Acupressure Point for Stress, Menstrual Cramps, Insomnia and High BP

Acupressure is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wisdom that’s been around for thousands of years.

It applies the same principles as Acupuncture and Japanese Yoga to promote relaxation and wellness and to treat disease.

What Japanese Yoga, acupressure and acupuncture all have in common is they’re based on the concept of life energy which flows through ‘meridians’ in the body.

When these meridians are clear and ‘unblocked’ we’re at optimal health and the body’s functioning at a high level, as it was designed to do.

When these meridians aren’t clear and become blocked, the body manifests symptoms that ‘all is not well’ and may indicate there’s some dis-ease within the body.

In Japanese Yoga, we do specific movements with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

In Acupuncture, needles are applied to certain points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

In Acupressure treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

You can press the LIV3 point to support a whole bunch of ailments including:

Stress, Lower Back Pain, High BP, Menstrual Cramps, Limb pain, Insomnia, Anxiety, Digestive Issues, Eye Problems, Headaches, Canker sores, Irritability

If you’re a fan of essential oils, you can uplevel by diluting the supporting oil(see chart below),  rubbing it into the LIV 3 spot and then applying pressure with the fingers.

Steps

  1. Find the point between the big toe and second toe
  2. Slide your finger along the space between the first and second toe to the tip of the joint. The point is located in the depression before your finger touches the bone (metatarsal joint)
  3. If uplevelling with essential oils: dilute the recommended oil* for your specific ailment and rub into the point
  4. Apply pressure and massage for 2-3 seconds
